Defensive? that thing needs to be offensive! You try and fall back in on yourself, against a good player, and you're finished.

I think the barrier kills movement along the back line. Perhaps putting it in front of the cleric may be a better idea.

Nope, bw needs to be there otherwise it can too easily be hit. Errr... it is very defensive. Opponents sends a knight in, you mage own it with a combination of back shots, then go on the offensive. Its all about being able to slaughter any knights that try to venture into your zone.

But I would move pyros in 1 square, barrier in front of the cleric, and scout and witch in front of that.
